We need to raise funds for the Healthy Schools London programme which was launched through the initiative of the Mayor of London. It sets out to help city children stay healthy and happy as they grow up.

The programme encourages schools to teach children about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle – to make healthy food choices at lunchtime, to be active at and on the way to school. The funds we raise ensure the right resources are available to participating schools.

Lions Clubs across the South East have pledged to raise £250,000 for the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance to help them fund their service during the night hours. Being able to operate a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), 24 hours a day, means that the charity can bring life-saving care directly to the most critically ill and injured patients across the South East, whenever needed. It costs over £6.5million to provide a 24 hour HEMS and each mission flown costs in the region of £2,500, so all support is highly important and valued.
