With your support the Lions International Blood Research Appeal (LIBRA) currently aims to raise more than £200,000 for the Haematology Department at King’s College Hospital in London.
The funds raised through this major Lions project will ensure that the haematology team can develop several laboratories where they will go on to create new and improved treatments for patients with a variety of blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
Head of Haematology at King’s, Professor Ghulam Mufti said: “We urgently require the funding as it will allow us to initiate new cell and gene therapy trials that would otherwise not be possible. We are so grateful for the ongoing support we receive from LIBRA, the latest campaign to raise £200,000 will make our research plans a reality.” Successful treatments will benefit patients across the UK and overseas.
