The Special Olympics National Summer Games is set to be held in Sheffield between the 7th and 12th August 2017 and we need donations of many kinds to ensure it is a success.
The Games will coincide with Lions celebrating our centenary year, so this event is a cornerstone project of our centenary celebrations.
It will also be the second consecutive games that the Lions will have delivered the ‘Families Programme’ – ensuring families are well organised and provided with a warm welcome.
It is estimated that up 6,000 family and friends will attend the Games as it provides an opportunity for families from all around the country to come together in one place and support their athletes.
We Need Your Help - Please Make A Donation
We need donations from Lion Clubs and individuals to help us ensure we run the Families Programme efficiently.
Equipment and Infrastructure
We need lighting and power, site fencing, toilets, tables and chairs, cooking equipment and signage. Whilst all of these items can be hired they will incur potentially high costs so we would appreciate any items that can be loaned to us for the event.
With 6000 family members expected, a significant number of welcome packs will be required so assistance with printing would be much appreciated.
Businesses who are interested in being a part of this exciting event can become sponsors.
If you are able to provide support or interested in sponsoring the Games, please contact Lion Simon Smith, Special Olympics Liaison Officer, via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
