Lions Provide Support For Prostate Cancer Screening

Worthing Lions Support Prostate Cancer ScreeningA Service For The Local Community

Worthing Lions Club and the Prostate Cancer Support Organisation (PCaSO) ran a successful screening day on 10th September 2016. A friendly team screened 141 men for prostate problems at Methold House in Worthing. The event was attended by the Mayor, Sean MacDonald, who had his blood taken along with the other participants.

The prostate screening service for the community was started up three years ago when the two charities combined to run the event. During the day Worthing Lions donated £500.00 to PCaSO to help cover their costs.

Guild Care generously allowed Lions and PCaSO the use of Methold House for the day for a nominal charge. All blood samples taken on the day will be processed at Worthing Hospital and the men will be notified of their results via post.
